With so much tile and stainless steel, the bathroom can sometimes feel a bit austere—and definitely not as cozy as it should be. But that’s not right, the bathroom should be almost an extension of your bedroom, a super personal space that not only expresses your individuality but also helps you recharge and prepare for whatever your next challenge is. An amazing rug in your bathroom is the ideal first step to making the space just that.

What to look for in a W.C. rug? Well, this selection emphasises pieces that can stand up to the wear and tear of a room that sees a lot of action and is usually quite humid and warm. This last characteristic is why you’re going to want something washable: just like your face cloths and towels, you’ll want to freshen up your rug from time-to-time. So something in cotton or a synthetic material will work a treat.

Beyond that, much of the choice is up to you. Of course, we do have a few suggestions. As we said, the hard surfaces of the bathroom can be a bit much, so try out an especially plush and luxurious rug—something handwoven could be just the thing. And colour-wise try something to balance out the greys and darker colours, something bright in a pastel might be lovely, especially with a floral pattern, or even a primary colour like red or yellow, which is sure to really pop when paired with a bright blue shower curtain.
