Young Woman With a Cat on Her Shoulder, Ancient Engraving for Print Maker Auguste Danse in 1875 "Young Woman with a Cat on the Shoulder" is an etching and drypoint print created by Belgian artist Auguste Danse in 1875. It depicts a young woman with a cat perched on her shoulder. Auguste Danse (1829–1929) was a Belgian engraver and printmaker known for his detailed etchings and drypoint works. The etching technique involves using acid to create lines on a metal plate, while drypoint is a printmaking process where an image is incised into a plate with a hard-pointed needle. The original artwork is held in a private collection but many of his works can be seen in "The Belgian Art Gallery" Belgium.
