What inspired you to become an artist, and when did you first realise that you wanted to pursue this career path?

It all started for me with a deep love for bold colours and a passion for music. My art is heavily influenced by anything that brings me happiness, so being able to share that with customers that are hanging my work in their homes is beyond a feel-good feeling. Whenever I am designing a new collection of prints, I get lost in it for hours and love watching the outcome of a design. It's something that I truly love doing, realising that was exactly when I knew I wanted to pursue this career path.

What are some of your favourite materials and mediums to work with, and why do you prefer them?

How would you describe your artistic style, and how has it evolved over time? I would describe my artistic style as boldly colourful, with a retro vibe. I love drawing retro cartoon characters and mixing that with typography, I mess around with a print until I produce something that I would genuinely buy myself. Because if you don't like your print, how do you expect someone else to? My style has definitely evolved over time, when I first started I would use muted tones and hardly incorporate any colour as I thought that's what people wanted. Once I started experimenting a bit more and learning I feel like I really found my own style.

What challenges have you faced in your artistic career, and how have you overcome them?

One thing I really have struggled with during my artistic career, is imposter syndrome and comparing myself to others. Honestly, it's still something I struggle with now at times, you just need to believe in yourself and produce work that you want to, not because others are doing it. It can be particularly hard to not compare yourself in the age of social media. I try to avoid social media when I can, setting up my posts weeks in advance so I don't get too caught up in trying to keep on top of content and trying to stay relevant. If I am having an artistic block, I need to take a step back and go out and enjoy myself with my loved ones, you can get inspiration from anywhere just as long as you stay present in your life and do not become too infatuated with trying to stay current.

What are your goals for your art in the future, and where do you see your career going in the next few years?

I currently work full time along side running my small art business. I have a very busy life right now, I would love nothing more to one day work full time on my passion project.

What's your favourite piece that you sell on Fy! and why?

My favourite piece that I sell on Fy! is my Aperol Spritz print. It is one of my best sellers, which makes me so happy as it is my favourite cocktail ever. The artwork reminds me of happy times sipping an Aperol whilst being on holiday. What could possibly go wrong whilst drinking an Aperol? I love the whole cocktail collection I have designed, but the Aperol one is definitely a stand out. I also, LOVE my Glastonbury print, I originally designed this to hang in my home without the intention of selling it. I wanted to bring the happiness Glastonbury brought me into my home, it has been such a customer favourite since I released it and it really does bring me so much joy knowing that people are hanging my print in their homes.

Which other artists on the Fy! platform do you love?

I am LOVING Nephthys Foster at the moment. Her prints just capture everything everyone loves, they're beautifully designed and I want every print of hers to hang in my own home.

Where is your artwork best suited in a home?

I love creating pieces to fit all rooms in the house. From the kitchen, bedroom and hallways, my art has been designed to spread positivity and add a splash of colour to walls. The kitchen disco and cocktail series are perfect for the kitchen. My music related prints such as Arctic Monkeys or Glastonbury, are perfect for the hallway, living room, bedroom or bar area. Check out my Fy! page to see my full range of prints for all room types.
