What inspired you to become an artist, and when did you first realise that you wanted to pursue this career path?I was inspired to become an artist by my fascination with the simplicity and beauty of minimalism, as well as my love for creating and expressing myself through my artwork. One summer I discovered my passion for minimal art, but I was drawn to the challenge of using simple lines and shapes to convey complex emotions and ideas. What are some of your favourite materials and mediums to work with, and why do you prefer them?As an abstract minimalist line artist, I love experimenting with different materials and mediums to create my art. I enjoy using graphite pencils for their simplicity and versatility, allowing me to create fine lines and shading with ease. Acrylic paint is another favorite, providing bright and vivid colors that are easy to blend and layer, while also offering the ability to create texture with various techniques. Oil pastels are great for achieving a rich and intense color that can be difficult to replicate with other mediums, and they can also be used for both drawing and painting techniques. Finally, digital tools offer a convenient and flexible way to create art on a tablet or computer, with endless possibilities for brush styles, colors, and effects. Ultimately, I choose the materials and mediums that best fit the vision I have for each piece. Whether it's a minimalistic line drawing or a colorful abstract piece, I always strive to create art that captures the essence of my style and vision. How would you describe your artistic style, and how has it evolved over time?My artistic style is a minimalist approach to line art, where I strive to capture the essence of the human form with clean, simple lines. I also create abstract modern art and bohemian-inspired pieces, working with a range of mediums, including digital art, acrylic, graphite, and oil pastels. Over time, my style has evolved into a more refined and distinctive approach as I experiment with different techniques and subject matter. While I started out creating more realistic and figurative works, I gradually simplified my style to create more impactful and visually striking pieces. My inspiration comes from my observations of nature, people, and the true meaning of life, which I strive to convey through my art. As a result, my artistic style is a unique combination of minimalism, modernism, and philosophical themes, creating works that are both visually arresting and thought-provoking. What themes or ideas do you explore in your artwork, and why are they important to you?In my artwork, I explore the themes of the human form and face, as well as boho and abstract modern art. I find these subjects fascinating and enjoy the challenge of distilling them down to their most essential elements. My goal is to create visually striking and emotionally resonant work that inspires empathy and understanding in the viewer. Can you walk us through your creative process, from the initial concept to the finished piece? Can you walk us through your creative process, from the initial concept to the finished piece? What challenges have you faced in your artistic career, and how have you overcome them?As an artist, I've encountered the challenge of feeling stuck in one particular genre or style for too long, which can lead to aesthetic thinking that remains stagnant and repetitive. To overcome this challenge, I make a conscious effort to seek out new sources of inspiration, such as reading or exploring new places, and to experiment with different techniques and materials. I also try to approach my work with a mindset of curiosity and playfulness, always seeking out new possibilities and ways to push the boundaries of my creativity. My ultimate goal is to create art that is unique, engaging, and always evolving. Who are some artists or other creative figures that have influenced your work, and how have they inspired you?As an abstract minimalist line artist, I have been inspired by a number of artists and creative figures in various fields. Some of the artists who have influenced my work include Kazimir Malevich, Wassily Kandinsky, Agnes Martin, and Ellsworth Kelly, who were all pioneers in the development of geometric abstraction and minimalism. I have also been inspired by the work of artists such as Joan Mitchell, Mark Rothko, Yves Klein, and Jackson Pollock, who were associated with the abstract expressionist movement. These artists and creative figures have inspired me with their use of color, composition, and gesture, and have pushed me to experiment with different techniques, explore new forms, and continue to evolve my artistic practice over time. Additionally, I have been influenced by the ideas and principles of Constructivism and Lyrical Abstraction, as well as the work of contemporary artists who are pushing the boundaries of abstraction and minimalism in new and innovative ways. How do you stay motivated and inspired when you hit a creative block or rough patch? When I hit a creative block or rough patch, I find that getting away from the studio and spending time in nature can be very helpful. Being able to observe the natural world, whether it's watching animals or simply taking in the scenery, can help me to clear my mind and find new inspiration. I also like to practice meditation and deep breathing exercises, which can help to calm my mind and allow me to focus on my creative work. Lastly, browsing paintings by famous artists can also be a source of inspiration for me, as it allows me to see how other artists have approached similar challenges and techniques. What advice would you give to aspiring artists who are just starting out on their artistic journeys?Don't be afraid to experiment and try new things, but always stay authentic to your own artistic style and voice. Also, don't be discouraged by failure or setbacks - they are all part of the learning process and can ultimately lead to growth and improvement. Finally, be open to feedback and constructive criticism from others, but remember to trust your own instincts and intuition when it comes to your art. What are your goals for your art in the future, and where do you see your career going in the next few years?I don't have grand aspirations or specific goals in mind for my art. Rather, my focus is on enjoying the creative process and creating works that are true to my heart and soul. For me, art is a way to heal, find peace, and cultivate positivity in my life. As such, my aim is to continue creating art that speaks to me and hopefully resonates with others.
